John McCarthy's Brutally Honest Take On Dana White Criticizing Francis Ngannou
Bellator color commentator "Big" John McCarthy has weighed in on Dana White's criticism of Francis Ngannou's PFL deal.
Ngannou had been the reigning UFC Heavyweight Champion, but he parted ways with the promotion once both sides couldn't come to terms on a new contract earlier this year. Several months later, Ngannou signed a lucrative deal with PFL.
Speaking to media members during a scrum in Las Vegas, White claimed that Ngannou didn't want to take a "risk" fighting Jon Jones and wanted easier competition.

During a recent episode of the "WEIGHING IN" podcast, McCarthy said that while he understands what White is doing as a promoter, he simply couldn't hold his tongue when it came to the UFC's boss' claim that Ngannou ran away from the competition.
"I don't blame them for not liking it, but to sit there and then to twist the truth because that's really what's happening, you're twisting things, you're trying to say that now he's afraid, he doesn't wanna fight competition," McCarthy said. "If he didn't wanna fight competition, he wouldn't be trying to get a f***ing goddamn boxing match with either Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder, or Tyson Fury."
McCarthy also said he understands why the UFC brass wouldn't want Ngannou to box, since it wouldn't serve the company well if he were to lose. With that said, he isn't a big fan of the slander against fighters on their way out of the promotion.
