One WWE superstar may have respect for The Rock, but he still hurled a dig at "The People's Champion."

Much has been made over the conclusion of the February 2nd episode of Friday Night SmackDown. When the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns went face-to-face with Cody Rhodes, most fans and experts assumed that it was to set the stage for a mega rematch at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia, PA.

WWE has been building up the need for Rhodes to "Finish the story" by winning the championship that his father came so close to capturing, but never officially did. Instead of the 2024 Royal Rumble winner challenging Reigns for his gold, he stepped aside in for Dwayne Johnson, which has got the whole wrestling world talking online.

Seth Rollins, the World Heavyweight Champion, has been urging Cody Rhodes to challenge for his title instead. He recently appeared on Good Morning Football to throw a little jab at The Rock.

"Hey, look man, if The Rock wants to jump on the bandwagon, ride my coattails into WrestleMania, it's totally fine with me, man," Rollins said. "Look, I get it. WWE is as hot as it's ever been. We are selling out arenas, stadiums. Any place we go right now is huge."

WWE Raw's top titleholder did end up giving Johnson his due, but he reminded "The Great One" that the new blood runs the show now.

"For The Rock to want to come onboard now, jump on my WrestleMania, get his toes wet, I get it," Rollins said. "So, mad respect to him and every he's done outside of here and everything he's done for our industry. I got no problem with The Rock jumping on and doing his business for us, man. I mean, we appreciate having him. Like I said, he's riding my coattails. He just needs to remember that."

Rollins then strongly put over WWE's business and deep roster. He want as far as to say The Rock' performing at WrestleMania 40 isn't exactly a necessity.

"He can come in, he can get what he wants, he can take his little piece, and then he can go back to Hollywood and do this thing cause we got this thing," Rollins said. "We don't need ya. We'd love to have ya, but we don't need ya, big guy."
