During an interview posted on his YouTube channel, Jiri Prochazka spoke in his native Czech language and explained that him saying Pereira is lacking in some areas in MMA wasn't meant to be a dig at his opponent.
"So, I said I don't think he's a good martial arts expert, but what I meant was, to define it well, that he's not that good at all those things like wrestling and grappling," Prochazka said. "That the stand up is something that clearly stands out to him. Like he's really good at it. I wanted to say a compliment, but it sounded like I was saying Alex Pereira is not a good martial artist. So, let people take it as they want, but I never mean it in a bad way. I think of everything in a positive term."
Prochazka went on to share his belief that Pereira might he overlooking him ahead of UFC 295.
"I think he underestimates me a bit, but he'll find out when we meet face to face," Prochazka said.
