UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones has entered a verbal spat with Tyson Fury after the British boxer took umbrage at remarks made by Joe Rogan.

Rogan claimed Jones would easily handle Fury if they were locked in a room together no holds barred. Fury would say otherwise:

"I'm the baddest man on the planet," Fury exclaimed on Twitter. "I heard [Rogan] say Jon Jones could f*** me up.

"I don’t think so, not a man born from a mother can f*** me up in a room on our own. Whatever happens in that room, I’d be walking out. Not a f***ing problem."

Jones replied to Fury's bold claims with a message of his own:

"Hey Tyson, it seems like [Rogan] may have struck a nerve. I'll admit there's no one touching you in that ring right now, but let's not let that confuse you with what would happen if you stepped foot in my cage.

"If you ever want to put some of those questions you got going on to rest, give [Dana White] a call. I'll help you out."

One fan asked Jones, "How many rounds????? If you're that confident." Jones replied, "Round one."

Jones has had his "baddest man on the planet" title challenged twice this week, by Fury and Francis Ngannou respectively. Both fights seem equally unlikely to happen for the time being.

Fury, standing at 6'9", is the current WBC heavyweight champion of the world in boxing. Jones mixes up Greco-Roman wrestling with purple-belt Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and lethal standup techniques; not to mention some stunning fight IQ.

How would it end if the two were "locked in a room"? It remains yet to be seen, but for now, the idea of a Fury vs. Jones fight is a distant fantasy.
