Report: Yet Another WWE Raw Superstar Injured Ahead Of WrestleMania 40
The injury bug continues to bite WWE and the wrestling industry as a whole.
We're just a few days shy of exactly one month away from WrestleMania 40. While WWE figures to put on a quite the two-night special inside Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA, the road to get there has been quite bumpy on the injury front.
Major injuries to the likes of CM Punk, Charlotte Flair, and Shotzi have been a bitter pill to swallow for both WWE officials and fans. Unfortunately, there is another talent injury that has been reported.
The Rock Drops Bombshell Announcement On WWE SmackDown Future
Fightful is reporting that former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion Piper Niven suffered an injury last month. It's been said that word floating around internally is that Piper may have suffered a broken hand.
Niven was last seen in action on the February 5th episode of WWE Main Event. She teamed with Chelsea Green in a losing effort against Natalya and Tegan Nox.
The timing certainly isn't ideal for Niven, as WrestleMania is fast approaching. While there was no guarantee Piper would've made it on the card, there was always that chance. With this latest setback, however, there's no word on when she'll be able to return to the ring.
With all the injuries that have occurred, WWE officials are hoping to avoid hearing further dreaded news before "The Showcase of the Immortals." This is especially true for the marquee matches, as top stars such as Cody Rhodes, The Rock, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Rhea Ripley, Becky Lynch, IYO SKY, and Bayley will have key spots at WrestleMania 40.
