VIDEO: Conor McGregor Rolls With PFL Star As UFC Return Speculation Looms
Former UFC double-champion Conor McGregor seems to be returning to his old self. After suffering a severe ankle injury in July 2021 in a TKO loss to Dustin Poirier, the charismatic Irishman continues to tease a return to the Octagon.
His latest venture saw him training with PFL mainstay Brendan Loughnane Friday morning, which was shared across Loughnane's social media.
Although it was a brief clip, McGregor is practicing his ground game. This venture has plagued a few significant moments of his career, as he was submitted against Nate Diaz and Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2016 and 2018, respectively.
"Comeback season," Loughnane wrote as his caption.
McGregor and the UFC have teased a 2024 return, though it is unclear when, where, and who the 35-year-old will compete against.
McGregor coached opposite Michael Chandler as the pair served as the TUF 31 coaches in the spring, but the fight was delayed due to McGregor's dealings with USADA.

UFC 300 is five months away, making McGregor a worthy choice to serve as a headliner, but only time will tell.
McGregor has not won since 2020, knocking out Donald Cerrone in under a minute at UFC 246 before losing in back-to-back outings to Poirier.
McGregor became the promotion's first simultaneous two-division champion in 2016, knocking out Eddie Alvarez before leaving MMA to challenge Floyd Mayweather Jr. in Aug. 2017 in a blockbuster boxing match, which McGregor lost.
Although his return is inevitable, his legacy is still being written, with more eventual history on the way.
