UFC News: Conor McGregor Teases Next Three Fights, ‘Not Sure’ on Acting Career

'The Notorious' is still 'holding out hope' for his UFC return.

From fighting to acting, Conor McGregor has a lot on his plate.

The former two-division UFC Champion is gearing up for a return to the Octagon later this year. McGregor had his eyes on the coveted UFC 300 main event spot against Michael Chandler, but was not given the green light by the promotion.

With McGregor's comeback delayed once again, 'The Notorious' refuses to give up as he is zoned in on fighting as early as this summer.

"Still holding hope for June 29th," McGregor wrote on his Instagram story on Tuesday. "Lack of action on it however is now causing lack of enthusiasm. I need a decision soon. I am the most tested athlete under this new regime. Yet no date to fight.

"The game is a bit lackluster also at present which isn't helping. I hope these next few cards pop and I get a date. Eliminate distractions and begin real work towards it."

While the Irishman is itching to get back to business, UFC CEO Dana White provided a grim update, citing it could take until the fall to see McGregor in action again.

McGregor is already planning the next steps of his career, should the UFC cater to the June 29th date (UFC 303) for his super-fight vs. Chandler.

A trilogy with Nate Diaz is still left as unfinished business for the 35 year-old as the iconic rivals left it at one win a piece between the both of them. McGregor hopes to finally settle the score in 2024 at a historic event.

"I wish for this on Mexican Independence Day in the Sphere." McGregor referenced Diaz as a potential opponent. "Chandler June. Diaz September. I have let this be known."

If McGregor's plans to fight twice this year weren't ambitious enough, the UFC superstar also entertains a return to the boxing ring against a massive name: Manny Pacquiao.

"It's still there," McGregor said, when asked about Pacquiao. "Could be December. The Saudi's are game changers in the market 100%."

A "game changer" himself in the world of combat sports, McGregor made the move to acting in his time away from the UFC. He is set to play 'Knox', a character who goes head-to-head with Hollywood's Jake Gyllehaal in the 'Road House' remake.

The film premieres this Friday at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas and then to the rest of the world on Amazon Prime Video on Mar. 21.

Ahead of attending opening night, Conor McGregor is uncertain on whether he'll continue acting, writing on his Instagram story: "It's hard work. Harder than expected. Not sure if I will go again. Will see how I feel after release. Wish to compete first."
