Jake Paul Offers $1M to Fight Sean Strickland, Ex-UFC Champ Has 'Better Deal'
Sean Strickland's latest sparring session caught the attention of Jake Paul.
On Friday, the former UFC Middleweight Champion would spar popular streamer 'Sneako' at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas. You can guess how that all turned out.
Strickland put on an utter beatdown on Sneako, with towels being thrown left and right inside the cage to try to stop the sparring session gone wrong. The streamer somehow managed to stay on the feet, only to take much punishment from the #1 ranked UFC Middleweight in the world.
Sean Strickland Claims Injury Caused UFC 297 Loss, Dricus Du Plessis Responds
Not impressed by the performance against his fellow influencer, Paul would make an interesting proposition to Strickland.
"Shawn Strickland you’re embarrassing for trying to stop sneako like that you weren’t even able to drop someone with no experience while going all out," Paul wrote on X. "You’re a horrid boxer that only picks on inexperienced people.. I’ll fly you to PR and we can fight on camera… if you win I’ll give you $1 million (half your net worth) But if you get dropped you have to get Betr tattooed on you. DM me. But just like paddy [Pimblett] I’m guessing you’ll find a way to run."
Let's just say Strickland doesn't take Paul very seriously as a fighter.
"You lost to a part time boxer..... lmao......... don't forget that. But yes, lol," Strickland replied on
X
, referencing Paul's loss to Tommy Fury. "Jake "I'm gonna pad my record with a part time boxer" Part time boxer off the couch wins lmao......"
"Real talk... jokes aside.. Jake Paul is an utter f***ing joke..... You box small retired old mma fighters and you sell sugar water to kids.. If it were legal I'd take your f***ing life with a smile on my face. Is there any place on this earth I can take this man's life and walk?
As for Paul's lucrative challenge to fight him in Puerto Rico, Strickland wants to go a different direction entirely.
"Actually Jake I'll make you a better deal because money can't buy happiness and you have plenty of it and youre still a c**t," Strickland continued. "No cameras, me and you in a desert.... That would buy my happiness... No Instagram, no likes, no games.... Just you that's what I want."
Despite Strickland wanting to throw down with him, Paul accused the UFC slugger of 'ducking' him.
"Thanks for admitting I would make easy work of you in the boxing ring and ducking the offer… just like paddy… Now I will let you continue your meltdown," Paul wrote.
Jake Paul (8-1) has made a career out of beating (former) UFC fighters including Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren. But the influencer-turned-boxer sets his sights now on fighting traditional boxers now.
The 27 year-old meets Ryan Bourland, not Sean Strickland, up next in Puerto Rico. Read more about that below.
