UFC 292 Results: Chris Weidman Comes up Short Against Brad Tavares in All-Action Brawl
Brad Tavares has defeated Chris Weidman by unanimous decision at UFC 292, upsetting "The All-American's" long-awaited return to the octagon.
Weidman, 39, snapped his shin in half against Uriah Hall back in 2019, and it was ironically his legs that proved his biggest weakness against Tavares.

Tavares invested early, smashing Weidman's legs with reckless abandon, totally disregarding Weidman's prior injury. It paid off quickly as a hesitant Weidman struggled to commit to takedowns and forward-offense. There was a lapse in the action when Weidman was caught with a groin strike, but Tavares easily stole the opening frame.
In the second round, Tavares buckled Weidman with a low kick and it seemed to spell the end for the middleweight veteran, but he fought on. Weidman pushed the pace, landing some of the biggest shots of the round, even egging Tavares to brawl, which spurred the Boston crowd to cheer the action.

The former champ caught Tavares with a groin strike against the fence before securing a takedown, and the position was promptly reset by the referee. Afterwards, Tavares endeavored and locked in the second round.
Tavares owned the third round, his leg kicks were paying dividends. Weidman's takedown attempts were being shrugged off and his movement was labored. It wasn't enough in the end, and Tavares stole the show.
