UFC Champion Slams ESPN Analyst Ryan Clark for Controversial Take: "No Clue"
One UFC champion has fired back at ESPN's Ryan Clark following a bold suggestion.
Clark is a co-host with UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier on ESPN's "DC & RC" show. During a post-UFC 297 edition of the program, Clark heavily criticized the vacant women's UFC bantamweight title fight between Raquel Pennington, who won the championship, and Mayra Bueno Silva.
While Clark certainly isn't the only one who critiqued the fight, it was his hot take on the women's 135-pound championship that got people talking. He said that if this is the best the division has to offer post-Amanda Nunes, then the UFC should shut the division down.

Appearing on SiriusXM's "Unlocking The Cage," Raquel Pennington was asked for her response to the comments made by Ryan Clark. She reminded Clark that while he was an ex-NFL star, he has no idea what it's like to be a prizefighter.
"You know what? At the end of the day, I don't care what people say," Pennington said. "I'm not here for their expectations and to live up to that. I'm here for me and conquering goals and achieving things for myself. Like I said, with fighting everything can be different. First and foremost, people can criticize, but it's a lot of people who wouldn't even step into our shoes for 10 seconds. They have no clue what it's like."
"Rocky" insists she has a lot more to show, and that Clark and others who are criticizing can keep playing armchair quarterback.
"For everybody else who just wants to talk, keep sitting on your couch and talking and criticizing because you're not living in our shoes," Pennington said.
