UFC Champion Sean O’Malley Delivers Harsh Warning To Potential Next Opponent

Sean O'Malley told this top bantamweight to "settle down" with his talk after UFC 292.

Sean O’Malley is eager to avenge his loss to Marlon Vera, but that doesn’t mean the newly-crowned UFC champion will guarantee “Chito” the next bantamweight title shot.

“Sugar” scored the biggest win of his career at last weekend’s UFC 292 when he ended Aljamain Sterling's nine-fight win streak and claimed the UFC's bantamweight title with a fantastic second-round TKO.

Vera also fought on the main card of UFC 292 and defeated Pedro Munhoz via unanimous decision, and although O’Malley is interested in a rematch with the Ecuadorian he doesn’t like how “Chito” has been talking in the aftermath of the event.

“[Vera], he needs to f****** settle down a little bit," O'Malley said on his TimboSugarShow. "He’s like, 'I’m ready to sign a contract, I’m f****** next in line.’ I’m like, ‘Chill bud.’ I finished Pedro in two rounds. You went to a decision in a boring fight. You wouldn’t get a title shot after that fight if it wasn’t for me.”

O’Malley has no shortage of options for his next fight, and he warned Vera that he’d better behave himself if he wants a crack at the bantamweight title.

“You need to f****** settle down or I’ll pick Henry Cejudo, and don’t think that I don’t have the power to f****** pick who I wanna fight right now. So you better go on Twitter, say ‘Daddy, will you fight me?’ And I’ll f****** think about it, but you need to settle down acting like you call the shots right now. Because I’ll f****** – I’ll go box Gervonta [Davis], I’ll fight Henry, I’ll wait for Cory [Sandhagen], you need to f****** chill out with your ugly a** outfits.”

Vera may have the inside track on being O’Malley’s first challenger considering he handed the champion the only loss of his career at UFC 252, however “Chito” also only just got back into the win column after he lost a decision to Cory Sandhagen earlier this year.
