UFC News: Ian Machado Garry Rips Ex-UFC Champ Over Alleged Podcast Snub

"Imagine running a podcast and not knowing who your next guest was."

Ian Machado Garry had some choice words for a former UFC champion that claimed the Irishman refused to appear on his podcast.

The 26-year-old is one of the brightest young stars on the UFC roster, and after a UFC 296 matchup with Vicente Luque fell through during fight week Machado Garry is now set to return next weekend at UFC 298 against Geoff Neal.

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson recently appeared on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani and appeared to forget the Irishman's name while claiming he refused to appear on his JAXXON Podcast, and “The Future” was quick to dispute that statement in a video posted on his Instagram story.

Jackson previously held the UFC light heavyweight title.

“Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson went on [The MMA Hour] last night and spoke about how I turned down his podcast because I was afraid of being made fun of," Machado Garry said. "I’ve got the c*** on Monday of fight week. I’ve got him in like four days, I’m on his podcast. And he goes on, he calls me a c***…He didn’t even know my name.”

Jackson’s comments to Helwani also included reference to Machado Garry’s personal life, and similar statements that were previously made by the likes of Sean Strickland and Colby Covington also drew heated responses from the UFC's #10-ranked welterweight.

The 26-year-old unsurprisingly ended his video by stating that he won't be making the planned podcast appearance following the comments from “Rampage”, and he also made sure to direct some colorful expletives at the former UFC titleholder.

“Imagine running a podcast and not knowing who your next guest was. Imagine being that f***ing stupid, and then going on [The MMA Hour] and speaking about it. Well I can tell you one thing, you’re definitely not having me on now because you’re a f***ing idiot chatting mad s***. Good luck, take care, I wish you nothing but f***ing f*** all.”

Aside from his comments about Machado Garry, the biggest recent news involving Jackson is that the 45-year-old will make his professional boxing debut in June against former heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs.

The fiery response that “The Future” issued comes as no surprise given that he’s one of the most outspoken fighters on the UFC roster, and fans can look forward to seeing the Irishman on the microphone next week during the lead up to his fight with Neal at UFC 298.
