Colby Covington doesn’t have much interest in watching his former UFC opponent Jorge Masvidal take on Nate Diaz in a boxing match.

Masvidal and Diaz first met in the main event of UFC 244 when “Gamebred” claimed the inaugural BMF title via doctor’s stoppage, and now the pair are set to meet again in the boxing ring at the KIA Forum in Inglewood, California on June 1.

The rematch with Diaz will serve as Masvidal's boxing debut and his first fight since retiring at UFC 287. Covington doesn't expect to see either man put on an impressive performance.

“Two complete wash outs of the UFC that are 40 years old and should be in retirement homes.” Covington said on Submission Radio. “They’re gonna go out there, they’re sloppy, old f***ing dudes. They can’t perform in the UFC no more at this high, elite level like me…They both f***ing got 10 seconds of fame in the UFC, living off these fights from 10 years ago.”

Covington bested Masvidal in a grudge match in the main event of UFC 272, their rivalry carried on even after that meeting when “Gamebred” attacked the former interim titleholder outside of a steakhouse in Miami and later pleaded no contest to a misdemeanour battery charge.

“Chaos” returned to action for the first time since that win over Masvidal when he dropped a unanimous decision to welterweight king Leon Edwards at UFC 296, and after he put out a lengthy video calling for a matchup with Ian Machado Garry the unbeaten Irishman recently issued a response to Covington.

Fans will find out on June 1 whether or not Diaz and Masvidal are still capable of putting on an entertaining scrap in the boxing ring, and for Covington, a matchup with Garry could present the 36-year-old’s last chance to make another run at the UFC welterweight title.
