UFC star Conor McGregor isn’t letting the ongoing drama around his long-awaited return fight keep him from putting work in at the gym.

UFC Fans Shocked as Dana White Reveals New Conor McGregor Return Timeline

“The Notorious” sent the MMA world into a frenzy at the start of this year with an announcement that he’d be returning in June to face his opposing The Ultimate Fighter coach Michael Chandler at middleweight, but unfortunately UFC CEO Dana White dismissed that plan just a few weeks later.

McGregor has already expressed considerable frustration regarding the confusion around his return fight, but it doesn’t appear that any of that drama is distracting him from training.

One of the biggest selling points for McGregor’s involvement with TUF 31 was the chance to see the Irishman in action again following the broken tibia he suffered at UFC 264, and it certainly appears that the former two-division champion is once again operating at his full capacity more than two years after that injury.

It’s promising to see “The Notorious” spending so much time back in the gym preparing for his comeback. Still, without a confirmed date and opponent, it’s worth questioning how excited fans should be about the Irishman’s sparring footage.

A headlining slot at UFC 300 appears to be off the table with only two months to go until that event, but even if McGregor only returns in the latter half of this year that fight will undoubtedly be one of the biggest combat sports events in recent memory.
