“Bones” made good use of his massive frame to dominate the UFC’s light heavyweight division before making his heavyweight debut earlier this year, but any concerns about him taking on larger opposition were quickly dismissed when he submitted Ciryl Gane in just over two minutes at UFC 285.
The 36-year-old admittedly held a significant grappling advantage over the former kickboxer in that matchup, and now that he’s preparing to meet a strong wrestler in Miocic for his first title defense. Jones has called in one of the best grapplers of all time to help him prepare for that challenge.

A five-time ADCC World Champion, Ryan is one of the few elite grapplers that has the size necessary to help get Jones ready for when he meets Miocic at Madison Square Garden on November 11.
It will have been more than two and a half years since Miocic last competed when he and Jones enter the cage at UFC 295, however the 40-year-old is considered by many fans to be the greatest heavyweight in the history of the sport thanks to his accomplishments during two reigns as UFC champion.
A win over Miocic would add yet another former champion to Jones’ phenomenal resume, and there’s been a significant amount of speculation that “Bones” might decide to hang up his gloves if he comes out on top when the pair meet in the main event of UFC 295.
