Waldo Cortes-Acosta stunned spectators at UFC Singapore with a devastating knockout. The Dominican heavyweight pounded his opponent Lukasz Brzeski into the canvas late into the very first round.

Cortes-Acosta struggled with Brzeski's leg kicks early and the damage started to accumulate, which spurred him into action. "Salsa Boy" began to find success when he started to read Brzeski's leg kicks and return fire with thudding combinations.

It was a lazy jab that spelled the end for Brzeski, however, as he stepped in with a prodding punch and didn't retract his arm. Cortes-Acosta capitalised on the moment, coming over the top with a right hand which had Brzeski on wobbly legs.

Cortes-Acosta was quick to pursue his hurt opponent, clubbing Brzeski behind the ear, folding him like a deck chair and causing him to fall face-first into the canvas.

"Salsa Boy" improves to 10-1 professionally, with three wins now in the UFC. It also marks his first knockout under the UFC banner since his TKO finish of Danilo Suzart on Dana White's Contender Series back in August 2022.

Cortes-Acosta didn't call out any big names in his post-fight interview, instead opting to thank his friends and family and relishing the knockout. Now returning to the win-column since his decision loss to Marcos Rogerio de Lima in April 2023, he'll be looking to make waves in the heavyweight division.
