VIDEO: Undefeated South African MMA Fighter Bodies Opponent in Less Than a Minute
Drew Beaupré
The first knockout of Prince Lolia’s pro MMA career came in brutal fashion when he stopped Elvis Ngwalangwala at Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC) 104 on June 15.
Lolia and Ngwalangwala met in a lightweight bout on the prelims of EFC 104 in Sandton, South Africa. Ngwalangwala entered the matchup with a significant experience edge, but it was Lolia who impressed by scoring the biggest win of his career in under a minute.

Both men looked to be settling in for a striking battle, with Lolia just barely missing a left hand before Ngwalangwala answered with a nice body kick. “The Black Lion” moved forward quickly after eating the kick, and a halfhearted jab opened Ngwalangwala up for Liolia to land a short left hook that sent his opponent crashing to the mat.
The way Ngwalangwala fell actually saved him from the right hand that followed Liolia’s left hook, but the South African did eat one hammer fist on the ground before the referee quickly intervened.

The victory extended Liolia’s professional record to 3-0, with all of those fights taking place in EFC. “The Black Lion” won decisions in his previous two bouts, but this performance proved that the 20-year-old packs some power in his hands and might just be a prospect worth watching.
EFC is well-established as South Africa’s premier MMA organization, as well as being arguably the best proving ground for talent on the African continent. A number of former EFC fighters have made the jump to larger promotions over the years, including former EFC welterweight champion and current #6-ranked UFC middleweight contender Dricus Du Plessis.
