Iowa Star Clark's NIL Gets Times Square Treatment
Ahead of their visit to Rutgers on Friday - and a resounding 103-69 victory - Caitlin Clark and the No. 4-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes toured New York City's Time Square to take in the bright lights and see themselves on one of the biggest advertising stages in the world.
An image of Clark's Jordanesque buzzer beater shrug celebration from the Hawkeyes' 76-73 win against Michigan State earlier this week appeared on a massive video billboard at Time Square's TSX stage. The nation's leading scorer posed in front of her now-iconic image, with the Iowa women's basketball's Instagram account sharing the photo.
On-pace to break both the women's (Kelsey Plum / Washington / 3,527 points) and men's (Pete Maravich / LSU / 3,667 points) records before she heads to the WNBA, Clark poured in 29 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds against Rutgers for her 14th career triple-double.
One of the top NIL performers in all of college sports, Clark's portfolio has expanded since signing with Excel Sports Management prior to the season. She has added State Farm and Gatorade to her previous partnerships with Nike, Bose and Topps, among others.
The first college athlete to collaborate with State Farm, Clark has been appearing in TV commercials over the last month sharing the screen with Jimmy Butler of the Miami Heat, NBA legend Reggie Miller and Jake from State Farm.
Last year, Clark was among the handful of college athletes to sign with Nike, including UConn's Paige Bueckers, USC duo JuJu Watkins and Bronny James and Memphis' DJ Wagner.
Clark and Iowa next visit Purdue on Wednesday.
