USC Freshman Star Collier Adds Beats by Dre to NIL Portfolio
When USC star freshman point guard Isaiah Collier committed to USC a year ago, he and top women's recruit Juju Watkins made history as the first consensus top-ranked duo to sign with the same school in the same season.
Together the freshman sensations have put USC on the map as a legitimate basketball program, not just a football school of year's past.
Although the Trojans men's team (5-4) has fallen out of the top-25 after a loss last weekend to Long Beach State - the women are 8-0 and ranked No. 6 in the country - they are expected to turn things around once Pac-12 play tips off December 28.
Collier has excelled in his first season thus far as the team's second leading scorer - 17 points per game - while leading the Trojans in assists. As his on-court game has flourished, so has his NIL portfolio.
Ahead of their ESPN-televised game on Sunday versus Auburn, Collier announced a new partnership with Beats by Dre, staring in a campaign video created with the brand's Beats Academy. The Trojans' freshman joins UCLA sophomore star Kiki Rice in Beats Academy campaigns that launched this week.
Collier is the latest college athlete added to Beats' NIL roster that includes his USC teammate Bronny James and fellow Trojans Caleb Williams, Rice, Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels of LSU, Shedeur Sanders of Colorado and Deja Kelly of North Carolina.
Beats Academy is a Los Angeles-based program for aspiring college student creators to create social media content featuring the brand's NIL athletes like Collier and Rice. 15 students joined the ten-week session that resulted in these two campaign videos.
Collier's NIL portfolio includes additional partnerships with the likes of Audi Beverly Hills, The Webster Man and USC collective House of Victory, among others.
Projected as the top pick in next year's NBA Draft, Collier was a three-time Georgia high school state champion, the co-MVP of the McDonald’s All-American game and earned Naismith Player of the Year, Gatorade Georgia Player of the Year, and MaxPreps Player of the Year honors.
The Trojans next visit Auburn on Sunday, airing nationally on ESPN.
