BREAKING: Anthony Davis Update Reported After Lakers-Warriors Game
UPDATE: ESPN's Dave McMenamin posted a video of Anthony Davis walking out of the arena (without a wheelchair).
On Wednesday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers lost Game 5 of their second-round playoff series to the Golden State Warriors by a score of 121-106 (on the road at the Chase Center in San Francisco).
However, the more concerning factor was that Anthony Davis got injured during the game and did not return.
Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report and the NBA on TNT has just reported the latest update on the eight-time NBA All-Star.
Via Haynes: "Early diagnosis indicates Anthony Davis appears to have avoided a concussion and is doing much better now, league sources tell @NBAonTNT, @BleacherReport."
During the fourth quarter, Davis was on the receiving end of an inadvertent elbow from Warriors' center Kevon Looney.
Haynes initially reported that Davis was in a wheelchair.
Via Haynes: "Anthony Davis has been escorted away in a wheelchair for further evaluation."
After the game, head coach Darvin Ham met with the media and spoke about Davis.
Ham: "Obviously, everyone saw he took a shot to the head. I just checked in on him. He seems to be doing really good already. That's just where it's at. That's the status of it right now."
Davis finished the game with 23 points, nine rebounds and three assists while shooting 10/18 from the field in 32 minutes of playing time.
Game 6 will be on Friday evening in Los Angeles, and if the Warriors win, there will be a Game 7 back at the Chase Center on Sunday.
Whoever wins the series will advance to the Western Conference Finals.
