UPDATE: Joel Embiid's Official Injury Status For 76ers-Celtics Game
UPDATE: Joel Embiid is available.
On Thursday evening, the Philadelphia 76ers will host the Boston Celtics in Pennsylvania for Game 6 of their second-round playoff series.
For the game, 2023 MVP Joel Embiid is listed as questionable on the injury report.
Via Underdog NBA: "Joel Embiid (knee) listed questionable for Thursday."
The superstar center missed Game 1 of the series with a knee injury but has returned and played in each of the last four games.
Embiid has averages of 24.6 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.9 blocks per contest while shooting 44.8% from the field through his first seven games of the 2023 NBA Playoffs (he also missed Game 4 against the Brooklyn Nets).
After losing Games 2 and 3 of the series, the 76ers were in a 2-1 hole, but they have now responded with two straight wins and are up 3-2.
Therefore, a victory on Thursday evening would close out the series.
The former Kansas star is in his seventh season in the NBA (all with the 76ers) and has led them to the Playoffs for six straight seasons.
However, Embiid has never been out of the second round, so he is only one victory away from his first Eastern Conference Finals appearance.
In the first round, the 76ers swept the Nets, while the Celtics beat the Atlanta Hawks in six games.
The winner of the series will face off against either the New York Knicks or the Miami Heat (the Heat have a 3-2 lead in the series).
