LeBron James And Anthony Davis' Final Injury Status For Lakers-Grizzlies Game

Anthony Davis and LeBron James have been upgraded to available for Sunday's game.

UPDATE: Anthony Davis went to the locker room at the end of the first half but returned to start the third quarter.

On Sunday afternoon, the Los Angeles Lakers will be in Tennessee to face off with the Memphis Grizzlies for Game 1 of their first-round playoff series.

For the game, they will have their two best players in the starting lineup, as LeBron James and Anthony Davis have both been upgraded to available.

Davis had another fantastic regular season with averages of 25.9 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.0 blocks per contest in 56 games while shooting 56.3% from the field.

As for James, he is still among the ten best players in the league at 38 and averaged a sensational 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists per contest in 55 games while shooting 50.0% from the field.

James and Davis led the Lakers to the NBA Championship over the Miami Heat in 2020, but they are coming off a season where they went just 33-49 and missed the postseason.

That said, the Lakers did an excellent job finishing the season as the seventh seed with a 43-39 record (they beat the Minnesota Timberwolves in the play-in tournament).

Meanwhile, the Grizzlies are the second seed for the second straight season and had a 51-31 record.

They went 35-6 in the 41 games they hosted on their home floor in Memphis and are coming off a year where they lost in the second round of the playoffs to the Golden State Warriors.
