Los Angeles Clippers Player In A Walking Boot
On Wednesday evening, the Los Angeles Clippers are playing their first regular season game of the year against the Portland Trail Blazers (at home in California).
The Clippers are without one of their best players, as Terrance Mann was ruled out due to an ankle injury.
Before the game, ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk reported that Mann was also in a walking boot.
Via Youngmisuk: "Mann is in a walking boot. Ty Lue didn’t have anything more to say on Mann’s status. Bones Hyland is available to play tonight."
In addition, Law Murray of The Athletic posted a video of Mann earlier in the day, and a boot could be seen on his left foot.
Mann played his college basketball for Florida State and was the 48th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.
He has played four seasons in the league for the Clippers and has solid career averages of 8.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest while shooting 50.0% from the field and 38.3% from the three-point range in 270 regular season games.
In addition, Mann has played in 37 NBA playoff games and was with the team when they made the Conference Finals in 2020.
The Clippers are coming off a year where they were the fifth seed in the Western Conference.
They lost to the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the NBA playoffs (in five games).
Following the Trail Blazers, the Clippers will play their next game Friday evening when they visit the Utah Jazz.
