On Wednesday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers will be in Texas to face off with the Houston Rockets.

They are on the second night of a back-to-back after beating the New Orleans Pelicans (on the road in Louisiana) 123-108.

Eight-time NBA All-Star Anthony Davis had a sensational game, putting up 35 points, 17 rebounds and one assist in 33 minutes of playing time (he also moved up on the all-time scoring list).

That said, the former Kentucky star will not be available when the Lakers play the Rockets.

Via ESPN's Dave McMenamin on Tuesday night: "Anthony Davis will not play tomorrow in Houston, according to Darvin Ham. There was an organizational decision to keep him out of back-to-backs, even though Ham stressed that Davis remains pain free playing on the foot that kept him out of 20 games earlier this season."

Davis is in the middle of another sensational season with averages of 26.1 points, 12.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.1 blocks per contest in 44 games (while shooting 56.1% from the field).

The Lakers are 34-35 in 69 games, which has them in a three-way with the Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder for the eighth seed in the Western Conference.

Over the last ten games, they are 7-3, and they are 16-19 in 35 games on the road.

As for the Rockets, they are 16-52 in 68 games, which has them as the 15th seed in the west.

They are 10-24 in the 34 games they have hosted in Houston.
