Here's What Draymond Green Said About His Ejection In Warriors-Kings Game 2
In the fourth quarter of Monday night's playoff game between the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings, Warriors forward Draymond Green was ejected after getting tangled up with Kings center Domantas Sabonis.
Falling to the ground on the offensive-end of the floor, Domantas Sabonis appeared to wrap his arms around Green's right leg/ankle, resulting in Green kicking to get Sabonis off of him and ultimately resulting in him stomping on Sabonis' chest.
Who was right or wrong in the situation?
That seems to be a matter of opinion according to NBA Twitter, but following the game, Draymond Green spoke to the media and made his point of view very clear.
"My leg got grabbed. The second time in two nights with the referees just watching," Green said. "I got to land my foot somewhere and I am not the most flexible person so it's not stretching that far. I can only step so far and pulling my leg away, so it is what it is."
This is not the first time Green has been ejected from a game from kicking or striking his opponent and many are wondering if further action will be taken by the league for Game 3 or Game 4 in San Francisco as a result.
"The explanation was I stomped too hard," Green said when asked about what the referees told him. "It was [Malik] Monk last game, right on the baseline under the rim, so either you're going to stop it... Jon Goble was looking at Monk hold my leg the last game and he just let it go and Zach [Zarba] was clearly watching my leg get held this game and let it go, so I guess ankle grabbing is okay."
Defeating the Warriors 114-106, the Kings have now taken a 2-0 series lead over the defending NBA champions. Game 3 will be played in San Francisco on Thursday, April 20.
