Here's When Andrew Wiggins Could Reportedly Return To Playing For The Warriors
The Golden State Warriors have played the last 22 games without Andrew Wiggins, who has been out due to personal reasons.
On Tuesday evening, the Warriors will host the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Chase Center in San Francisco, and Wiggins has been ruled out for his 23rd straight contest.
That said, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported (on Monday) that a return is on the horizon, and Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported that Wiggins would likely be in attendance at Tuesday's game.
Via Charania on Monday: "Golden State's Andrew Wiggins plans to attend Warriors-Thunder on Tuesday. The reason for Wiggins' leave of absence since mid-February is that his father, Mitchell Wiggins, has been dealing with a serious medical situation, sources close to the situation say."
Wiggins is one of their best players, so his availability going forward has significant implications for the entire Western Conference.
The 2022 NBA All-Star is averaging 17.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.2 steals per contest in 37 games (while shooting 47.3% from the field and 39.6% from the three-point range).
Following the reports from Charania and Wojnarowski, Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area sent out a tweet regarding when Wiggins could potentially return to the floor (h/t HoopsHype).
Via Johnson on Monday: "Andrew Wiggins won't play tomorrow for the Warriors. He's still out for a family matter.
Wiggins could play either Friday in Sacramento or Sunday in Portland before either the play-in tournament or playoffs begin"
Right now, the Warriors are the sixth seed (the final guaranteed playoff spot) in the Western Conference with a 41-38 record in 79 games.
