Aaron Holiday is coming off a season where he averaged 3.9 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest while shooting 41.8% from the field and 40.9% from the three-point range in 63 games for the Atlanta Hawks.

This summer, the former UCLA star became a free agent, and (on Monday) he officially signed with the Houston Rockets.

In addition to the Hawks, Holiday has also spent time with the Phoenix Suns, Washington Wizards and Indiana Pacers.

He was initially the 23rd pick in the 2018 NBA Draft out of UCLA and is entering his sixth season in the league.

Holiday has career averages of 6.6 points, 1.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest while shooting 41.3% from the field and 37.7% from the three-point range in 308 regular season games (he has also appeared in 14 NBA playoff games).

On July 6, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that his contract with the Rockets is for one year.

Via Wojnarowski: "Free agent G Aaron Holiday has agreed to a one-year deal with the Houston Rockets, sources tell ESPN."

Holiday will be able to provide solid depth at the point guard position and he is only 26 years old.

As for the Rockets, they are coming off a year where they were tied with the San Antonio Spurs for the second-worst record in the NBA (22-60).

The franchise has been in rebuilding mode since they traded away 2018 MVP James Harden during the 2021 season.

That said, they have been one of the most active teams during free agency
