Kevin Durant's Status For Thunder-Suns Game
On Friday night, the Phoenix Suns are hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder in Arizona.
For the game, they will remain without 13-time NBA All-Star Kevin Durant.
The superstar forward was traded to the Suns (via the Brooklyn Nets) earlier this month but has been out since January 8 with an MCL sprain.
On February 22, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported that Durant could make his debut on Wednesday against the Charlotte Hornets in North Carolina.
Via Charania on February 22: "Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns are targeting his Suns debut and return to action in next Wednesday's road game against the Charlotte Hornets, league sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Durant is on cusp of return from MCL sprain that he suffered on Jan. 8."
Durant is in the middle of another unbelievable season with averages of 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.5 blocks per contest in 39 games (while shooting 55.9% from the field).
The Suns have been one of the best teams in the league over the last two years, so adding Durant to a lineup of Devin Booker, Chris Paul and Deandre Ayton, makes them arguably the most talented roster in the league.
Before the Nets, Durant had stints with the Golden State Warriors and Thunder, so the Suns will be his fourth team in the NBA.
Right now, they are the fifth seed in the Western Conference with a 32-28 record in 60 games.
At home, the Suns have a 20-10 record in the 30 games they have hosted in Arizona.
