Los Angeles Lakers Sign Intriguing Prospect

On Friday, the Los Angeles Lakers announced four signings.

The 2023-24 NBA season will tip off next month, and training camps around the league will open in less than four weeks.

Many transactions continue to be made, as teams will add players and waive players ahead of the preseason.

On Friday, the Los Angeles Lakers announced four signings (h/t HoopsRumors).

Via The Lakers: "The Lakers have signed Vincent Valerio-Bodon and Damion Baugh, Bryce Hamilton and Scotty Pippen Jr."

Valerio-Bodon went undrafted in July and is coming off a year where he averaged 8.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists per contest while shooting 50.3% from the field and 41.2% from the three-point range in 30 games for Sopron KC.

At 6'10", the 22-year-old is an intriguing prospect because of his ability to shoot.

Hamilton played his college basketball for UNLV, and during his senior season, he averaged an impressive 21.8 points per contest.

The 22-year-old went undrafted in 2022 and spent this past year in the G League with the South Bay Lakers.

Over 29 regular season games, Hamilton averaged 14.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 51.4% from the field and 38.5% from the three-point range (he also appeared in 16 Showcase Cup games and one G League playoff game).

Baugh played two seasons of college basketball for Memphis and two for TCU.

This past year, he averaged 12.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.8 steals per contest while shooting 43.1% from the field and 33.0% from the three-point range in 29 games for TCU.

This summer, the 23-year-old went undrafted.

Lastly, Pippen Jr. went undrafted in 2022 and played six games for the Lakers last season.

In addition to his time in the NBA, the 22-year-old played for the South Bay Lakers and had impressive averages of 21.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.6 steals per contest while shooting 46.9% from the field and 30.0% from the three-point range in 19 regular season games (he also appeared in 16 Showcase Cup games).
