Belgian GP Results: Max Verstappen Takes Sprint Race Pole Position With Oscar Piastri Narrowly Missing Out
Max Verstappen has taken pole position for the Belgian Grand Prix Sprint Race this afternoon.
Following the Red Bull driver on the grid will be Oscar Piastri and Carlos Sainz who put in the second and third fastest times, respectively.
Rain has been an issue throughout the weekend so far with a washed-out FP1 raising concerns over whether qualifying would be able to go ahead yesterday. After a delay, thankfully fans were able to watch an exciting qualifying session.
The Sprint Shootout saw another delay of 35 minutes due to the weather.
Nico Hulkenberg had a disastrous SQ1 without managing to get a time on the board. The Haas team seemed to keep changing their minds on the tyres. The German driver could be heard saying to the team afterwards, "Interesting execution there", to which the team responded apologising that they got it wrong.

- Valtteri Bottas

Logan Sargeant had a moment, putting a brief yellow flag on the sector, after spinning out over the gravel but he luckily managed to save it and continue with the session whilst not hindering anyone else's flying laps.
Lance Stroll trialled the medium tyres just a bit too early and ended up losing control at Turn 9 and crashed into the race wall. With just 30 seconds to go of the session, a red flag was waved and the session was not resumed. Stroll was eliminated from SQ2 and it was also bad news for his Aston Martin teammate Fernando Alonso, both of the Williams drivers Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant, as well as AlphaTauri's Daniel Ricciardo.
Thankfully Stroll was okay and was not harmed in the crash.
