Charles Leclerc Crash: Miami GP FP2 Red Flagged As Ferrari Hits The Wall

The Miami Grand Prix is looking to bring us even better racing than last year with the whole track being resurfaced to improve grip off-line. But this didn't help Charles Leclerc as he crashes in Turn 7, bringing a red flag to FP2.

The Ferrari driver was third fastest on the timesheet behind Red Bull's Max Verstappen and his Maranello teammate Carlos Sainz when he managed to countersteer against a bit of oversteer, throwing him wide and into the barrier.

With a red flag thrown, he was soon out the car, and while he sounded naturally disappointed with how his Friday has ended, he looks to be okay.

Ferrari soon after posted the following to Twitter, addressing the incident.

Fortunately, whatever the damage, the Scuderia team has plenty of time to fix the car before tomorrow's FP3 session which starts at 12:30pm local time. Fortunately, from the replay from F1, it doesn't look like the driver has damaged his new diffuser or floor, so Ferrari should be good to go come tomorrow.

If Leclerc was to crash at some point over the weekend, this is the best time for it.

Worthy of note, interesting that the barrier was not repaired when the green flag was shown.
