Despite Huge Issues, This Teams Wins Fastest Pit Stop At Bahrain Grand Prix

The pitstop times from the Bahrain Grand Prix have been released.

Ferrari managed to make the fastest pitstop during the Bahrain Grand Prix, despite the issues faced which ended with Charles Leclerc having to retire from the race. This is the first time the Maranello-based squad have won the DHL Pitstop Award since the Spanish Grand Prix in May 2022.

Revealing the times to social media, DHL Motorsports wrote:

Ferrari managed to complete their pit stop in a lightning-fast time of just 2.22 seconds, barely managing to keep Red Bull behind who secured the second spot with a time of 2.25 seconds. Both times are faster than last year's Bahrain Grand Prix, where the winner was McLaren with a time of 2.31 seconds.

It's notable that McLaren is missing from the list this year, despite being a regular rival to Red Bull in the previous season. The British team failed to make it into the top ten, clearly indicating that they have some catching up to do. Similarly, Williams, which is traditionally known for its fast pit stops, had to settle for a tenth spot.

McLaren's slow pitstop times were explained by the disastrous race the British team had. Lando Norris ended up having to have six pitstops due to a pneumatic pressure leak which meant they had to refill every 10-11 laps.
