Drive to Survive: Mick Schumacher Won't Watch Episode Where He's Compared To Father Michael

Mick Schumacher doesn't feel the need to watch that specific Drive to Survive episode.

Mick Schumacher has opted out of watching the Drive to Survive episode titled "Like Father, Like Son?" that featured his former team boss, Guenther Steiner, criticizing him after his crash in Jeddah.

The episode, which compares the driver to his father, Michael Schumacher, has come under fire for being too negative and not reflective of what actually happened as Haas decided to not renew the German driver's contract.

Drive to Survive showed the conversation between team chief Steiner and owner Gene Haas:

“Gave him a year to learn and what does he do in the second race? He f****** destroys the car just because the other one is faster,” shouted the infamous-character through the phoen to Haas.

“Have a little talk with Schumacher," the owner replied. "He’s getting in over his head.”

As the episode continued, Haas told Steiner that "it needs talent, you can't develop talent", quickly followed by his opinion that Schumacher was in the "dead man walking" space.

Talking to Reuters, Mick admitted that he "didn't watch it".

"I guess I just don't feel the need to watch myself on TV," he continued.

Mick showed good improvements during the second half of the season, but with him struggling with two large and expensive crashes in Jeddah and during the Monaco Grand Prix, the consensus left him without a seat for 2023.

Since this, he was picked up by Mercedes AMG as a reserve driver, with him using his experience behind the wheel of these ground-effect cars to improve the struggling W14 for 2023.
