F1 Fans Spot Tear-Jerking Tribute To Michael Schumacher On Mick's Helmet As He Joins Mercedes

Mick Schumacher has paid tribute to his father.

Eagle-eyed fans have spotted Mick Schumacher's poignant tribute to his famous father, Michael Schumacher, on his helmet for the upcoming 2023 season when he will be a reserve driver for Mercedes

Mick shared two photos to social media of his new helmet after the Mercedes team unveiled the highly-anticipated W14, which sports an all-black livery with silver and Petronas turquoise accents.

The top of the helmet features the same design one of his fathers. F1 made the 21-carat gold helmet for Michael to celebrate the F1 legend being in the sport for 20 years. Schumacher wore it at the 2011 Belgian Grand Prix.

Michael's helmet was gold and black with Mercedes logo on the middle of the front going into black stars on the top, which Mick's also features with a yellow background instead of gold.

Fans reacted to the heart-warming gesture. One fan commented:

"Your Father would be proud. A full time Mercedes race seat would make us all very happy. Make it happen Mick. You can do it xxx"

Another fan wrote:

"You can see the Schumacher Running through him now!"

Someone else commented:

"A Schumacher in Mercedes gear feels so right"

Another emotional comment was left which read:

"His dads tribute helmet I cannot cope"

Mercedes team principal and CEO Toto Wolff spoke about the unveiling event, explaining:

"Last year was difficult but it came with lots of learnings.

"I hope 2023 will be proof that we have understood how to unravel the problems and improve the package of the car.

"W13 certainly had performance which we never were able to unlock and put all its downforce on the ground. Our car performed very well at the end of the season.

"However, we still had the famous bouncing at some circuits and the car never gave the drivers good feedback, which limited them in being able to really push.

"We have tried to keep all the goodness of the W13 and address its weaknesses."
