F1 News: Alpine's Double Disaster As Esteban Ocon Forced To Stop In Canadian FP2
Esteban Ocon ground to a halt on the side of the track during the second practice session for the Canadian Grand Prix after being instructed to stop the car from the Alpine team.
This comes after his teammate Pierre Gasly ran into suspected clutch problems during the first free practice session before it was red-flagged for the rest of the time earlier in the day.
The red flag caused by Ocon marks the third of the day, and second of the session after Nico Hulkenberg was forced to stop with his Haas up in smoke.
It is currently not 100% clear what has caused the issues with Ocon's A523, although it is expected to be a water leak.
The French team has not given any further updates at the moment but they will presumably be working on the car until the curfew this evening in the hope to get the car ready for tomorrow.
This comes after the first free practice session was red flagged after about seven minutes and failed to resume as there were issues with the CCTV around the track, meaning imagery was not getting back to race control.
