It was a hot race in Qatar today, hot enough to force Logan Sargeant to stop his race early and even veteran George Russell felt like he was going to pass out due to the heat. Now, Alpine driver Esteban Ocon revealed that he was sick in his helmet early on in the race.

Ocon finished P7 after a difficult race, bringing in valuable points for his French team, but the race was a strain for several as track temperatures met the likes of 37 degrees Celcius.

After the race, talking to his race engineer, Ocon let slip the news that he was sick into his helmet on Lap 13 of the tricky race.

He said:

"And I suggest you get some fluids on board as well. It's been a hot one," his engineer said.

"I didn't tell you I'd thrown up by lap 15," Esteban answered.

"So yeah, good job guys."

At the same time, it's been confirmed that Alex Albon has been taken to the medical centre after also suffering from the intense heat. This track, it seems, is very, very dangerous. But we can find solace in the fact that the race will be held later into the the Winter next year, which will hopefully mitigate a lot of this.

The Williams team updated fans moments after the race:

"Following Logan’s retirement from the Grand Prix, he has been assessed and cleared by the medical team on-site after suffering from intense dehydration during the race weakened by having flu like symptoms earlier in the week."
