Esteban Ocon is in the medical centre after the collision with Pierre Gasly and Zhou Guanyu at Turn 1 of the Hungarian Grand Prix which saw both Alpine drivers forced to retire from the race in Budapest.

Going into Turn 1 of the first lap of the Hungarian Grand Prix, Guanyu clipped the rear of Gasly's A523 causing the latter to collide with his teammate. Although the Alfa Romeo driver was handed a five-second penalty for the move, both Alpine F1 cars had sustained so much damage they could not continue with the race.

It was later confirmed that Ocon's seat split in two from the impact during the collision, so he went to the medical centre to get his back checked out. There has not been any other updates from the team, although it is suspected that Ocon is okay but is shaken up from the incident.

Alpine suffered from a double DNF in Silverstone as well with both cars retiring from the British Grand Prix. This saw them slip down into sixth position in the constructors' standings with McLaren taking the fifth spot. With the way the McLaren's are running today, that gap is only going to extend.
