The FIA has come under fire for the events following the Austrian Grand Prix

In the hours after the race at the Red Bull Ring, the Stewards reviewed 1,200 potential track limits infringements after Aston Martin lodged a complaint. Eight drivers have now been handed additional penalties after the race, changing the results.

The top three remain the same with Max Verstappen winning followed by Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez. However, the top ten changing will alter the points distributed from the race, and fans are not happy about it.

Taking to social media, fans have blasted the FIA for the chaotic aftermath. One fan wrote:

"The FIA ARE A JOKE THIS RACE. I think we can all agree on that"

Someone else highlighted that Sergio Perez did not receive a penalty, which many have questioned. They wrote:

"The FIA are also red bull blind when it comes to any (or all?..) penalties. Max got away with blatant cheating in qualifying with his nonsense on Lewis-who can’t compete in that sh**box anyway-Perez looks like he spent more time off track than on. Why would the top 3 be exempt??"

Here is a round up of what people are saying.

"The FIA is a joke."

"The FIA are an absolute f***ing shambles This Grand Prix has been absolutely shocking"

"F1 and the @fia are nothing short of an embarrassment. That today is an absolute sh** show."

"The FIA should be doing their job during the race with this, or at the very least saying things will be “investigated after the race” off their own back because they’ve seen people do wrong. They’ve known this was going to be an issue since Friday qualifying.

"So they’ve spent the whole racing drinking coffee and scrolling on their phone, catching the odd one or two. Remember it all only started in the race when Lando pointed Lewis out to them. Not them noticing it themselves.

"They’ve got all this extra support from “VAR” in Geneva but they seem to do just as little as the FIA personnel at the track. It’s honestly just embarrassing for the sport to do this.

"You wouldn’t decide a goal was offside in a football match when all the players have gone home would you? This stuff this evening makes our sport look amateurish. SORT IT OUT FOR GOD SAKE"
