During a recent interview with La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Vasseur discussed the current driver line-up. He explained:
"You can always do better, as a team and also as riders. Charles [Leclerc] didn't expect a season like this and at the beginning, he pushed more than he should, now he seems to have digested the situation better.
"Carlos [Sainz] is very consistent and for this reason, he's a good reference for us. As a character, Leclerc is impulsive, if something doesn't go well he doesn't hold back. However, for his own good and that of the team, sometimes it's better to calm down before speaking.
"When it's hot, you don't have all the information you need to form a definitive judgment and in front of an open microphone it's better to take your time. He's always very fast, but this year if you look at qualifying Carlos was more up to it than in the past."
There have been rumours of Leclerc holding talks with Mercedes, however, the Monegasque driver has made a bold public statement that his dream is to win a championship with the Prancing Horse.
Carlos Sainz, on the other hand, has been linked to Audi for the 2026 season. But, he remains just as adamant as Leclerc that he is loyal to Ferrari.
On top of those rumours, there was also speculation of the team offering a contract to seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton whose contract with Mercedes is due to expire at the end of the season. Despite this, Hamilton is expected to sign a contract extension with the Brackley-based squad imminently.
