The Hungarian Grand Prix has come to a close and Max Verstappen took his ninth win of the 2023 season and secured a record for the Red Bull team with twelve consecutive race wins. 

With just one more race to go before the summer break, here is a look at the current drivers' and constructors' standings. 

Drivers' Standings

The main changes to the drivers' standings are that Lando Norris has now overtaken Lance Stroll for eighth position with 60 points, and George Russell has taken fifth position from Carlos Sainz. 

Lewis Hamilton is also closing the gap to Fernando Alonso who currently sits in third position. Going into the weekend there was 16 points between the pair and there are now just 6.

Constructors' Standings

Although the Hungarian Grand Prix has not changed the constructors' standings in terms of the order, it is interesting looking at some of the gaps.

Alpine had another disastrous weekend with both cars of Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly retiring from the race on the first lap. This has extended the gap between the French team and McLaren to 40 points instead of the previous gap of 12 points. 

Mercedes has also extended the gap to Aston Martin in third position. The Brackley-based squad previously has a 22 point lead on Aston Martin, whereas, the lead is now 39 points.

McLaren is also creeping closer to Ferrari who currently hold fourth position. The Maranello-based team went into the weekend with a 98 point lead on McLaren, this lead has now changed to 80 points.
