F1 News: Las Vegas GP Reaches Milestone Ahead Of Inaugural Race
Reports are that the crews are working continuously- by day and by night to finish the construction of the F1 paddock building in Las Vegas. With 80% of the work already done, the rest of the work is expected to be completed in October.
A heap of dust that it was earlier, the site has been transformed into a 300,000 sq. ft structure of four levels! The paddock structure on the North East corner of Koval Lane and Harmon Avenue has been molded into shape since its construction began last year in November.

Acccording to Terry Miller of Miller Project Management who is in charge of the project, the project is scheduled to obtain its temporary occupancy certificate from Clark County around the middle of October. On the receipt of the permit, the paddock will be made race ready for Formula 1. To ensure that the construction work is completed on or before time, the agency has deployed 450 labourers on the site.
Despite the sense of urgency, Miller is confident of getting everything done on time. He said:
“We’ll be there in time for the race event, absolutely. These last three months are going to be very hectic.”
In terms of progress, escalators have been installed inside the building while the screen in the shape of the F1 logo has received its structural support. Apart from housing the drivers' garages on the ground level, the second and third floors get luxury suites while the rooftop gets a VIP viewing area.
Around the paddock, the East Harmon spectator zone is set to come up which houses the main grandstand while the othe grandstands will be constructed near Ellis island. Areas along the circuit like the North and South Koval zone which houses glass enclosed suites has 130 labourers pressed into action to ensure everything is wrapped up in October.
It seems as if the workforce has been giving it full beans to ensure the infrastructure is complete well before November for the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
