Sharing his excitement, Verstappen reflected on the initial moments of the race during his post-race interview with David Coulthard:
"It was quite tight. Luckily, there was a lot of space going into Turn 1, so that helps.
"After that, we could do our own race and control the pace a bit. We then had a bit of fun at the end, pushing a bit more."
Discussing the strategic advantage of DRS, he added:
"The DRS with such big wings on this track, it's quite powerful. Once I cleared the DRS, we all settled in our own rhythm, and I think the pace of our car was very good."
The forthcoming Grand Prix, however, presents a new set of challenges for the Dutch driver. Despite dominating the sprint race, Verstappen will start from the sixth position.
"Starting P6 is going to be a bit different than today. It makes it interesting, and hopefully, we can have a bit of fun. Of course, we want to win."
