Confirmation has arrived that Max Verstappen will participate in a sim race organised by his team, Team Redline, over the coming weekend. While the roster of drivers for the event is yet to be disclosed, the race is scheduled to take place this Sunday at 15:30.

It it anticipated that the race will be based at the Imola track following fan's requests as a way to raise money for the locals of the Emilia Romagna area. Extreme weather conditions and extensive flooding led to the unfortunate decision to cancel the grand prix this weekend.

Team Redline posted the news to social media, with a promotional poster of the virtual event with "real racers never quit" written above a picture of the Red Bull. They wrote the caption:

"You asked, we delivered: RRNQ makes its long-awaited return this Sunday! Stay tuned for the line-up…"

Fans eager to witness the virtual racing action can catch the event live on Twitch, providing a thrilling alternative in the absence of the physical Grand Prix.

While the exact details of the sim race and the lineup of drivers remain undisclosed, anticipation builds as fans eagerly await the event. With Verstappen's expertise and skill on display, viewers can expect an adrenaline-fuelled race showcasing the intense competition among the F1 drivers.

Fans are obviously very excited about the news, one fan commented reminding them about the QR code for charity donations to help with aid for the Emilia Romagna region. They wrote:

"Put the donation QR code on the stream overlay! :)"

Another excited fan thanked Team Redline for making it happen at such short notice. They responded:

"Honestly, huge thank you to Team Redline and all the parties involved that help make this a reality, and under such a short notice and time constraint too!"
