Two-time F1 champion Max Verstappen has expressed his desire to see the return of F1 races at the Mugello circuit. Despite his disappointment in the Tuscan Grand Prix at Mugello in 2020, Verstappen believes that the track would provide an excellent experience for the fastest cars in motorsport.

Fans may recall that Mugello stepped in to host a race during the Covid-affected 2020 season. Unfortunately, Verstappen's race ended prematurely on the opening lap, along with seven other cars.

Nevertheless, Verstappen remains optimistic about the potential return of Mugello to the F1 calendar, especially with the idea of race rotation gaining traction and F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali's recent admission that he would like to aim for 30 races per season.

In a recent interview with Motorsport.com, Verstappen shared his thoughts, saying:

"Well, bring Mugello back then. Of course, I haven't raced that much there yet, just two corners. But the circuit is really nice to drive on."

The discussion then shifted to the possibility of F1 races at the iconic Laguna Seca, a track that currently hosts the final race of the IndyCar calendar. Verstappen expressed openness to the idea, mentioning the appeal of American tracks such as Virginia and Road America. However, he acknowledged that certain adjustments would need to be made to accommodate Formula 1 cars at these venues.

Verstappen's enthusiasm for tracks like Road America highlights the potential for F1 to explore different circuits around the world. While Mugello remains a favourite for Verstappen, the prospect of incorporating other American tracks into the F1 calendar adds excitement and possibilities for future races.

The next important F1 date is May 26 - 28 for the Monaco Grand Prix.
