F1 fans have been remembering seven-time champion Michael Schumacher's first Formula One win at the 1992 Belgian Grand Prix at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

The official Michael Schumacher Instagram account shared the heart-warming post, writing:

"Yellow Spa Memories - Michael wins his first @f1 race, #OTD 1992, one year after his first race on that same track @circuit_spa_francorchamps - @keepfighting #KeepFighting #TeamMichael #TeamMSC"

The German driver made his F1 debut with Jordan in 1991 before moving to Benetton for the remainder of the year. Schumacher stayed at Benetton until 1995 which is the team he celebrated his first win with, as well as his first two championship victories.

Fans have been reacting to the touching post whilst sharing well wishes to the driver has not been seen publicly since his horrific skiing accident in December 2013.

One fan commented:

"Always get misty eyed when I see old pictures of Michael and hearing how bad the accident was"

Another fan posted that Schumacher was the reason they started watching Formula One. They commented on Instagram:

"My reason to watch F1.My childhood day.A true legend."

Someone else confessed that they have not watched F1 with as much passion since Schumacher left the sport at the end of 2012. They wrote:

"Had the honour to watch him in 2004 at Hockenheim. I still watch F1 but not with the same passion. I either miss the start or end. Falling asleep Sunday afternoons is now number 1. Or maybe I'm just getting old."

Another fan agreed, writing that they have not watched the sport at all since Schumacher's retirement. They commented:

"Because of him I came to F1 and with him I stopped watching it when he retired. Wake up Schumi"
