F1 News: Red Bull Wary Dominance May Not Continue - "Taking It One Race At A Time"
Red Bull Racing has showcased unparalleled dominance in Formula 1, amassing consecutive wins and setting an almost unbeatable track record. Yet, the team's leadership, specifically Team Principal Christian Horner, dismisses any notion of becoming complacent despite their overwhelming success.
In an era where each F1 race win counts, Verstappen's victory at Spa took his win count to eight in a row. This achievement further solidified Red Bull's impressive track record for 2023 with an all-time high of 12 straight victories.

However, when quizzed about potential complacency due to such an extensive lead, Horner was quick to quash such suggestions. He emphasised a step-by-step approach, indicating the team's focus on one race and one session at a time. The championship's length and breadth require a sustained effort, and Horner believes that no one in the team is letting their concentration wane. Horner explained to Autosport.com:
"I don't think so. I think we’re very much taking it one race at a time, one session at a time. And I think you have to focus like that.
"Nobody's allowing their mind to drift and I think that it’s a long, long championship."
Furthermore, the impending 2026 horizon sees developments with the Red Bull Powertrains, another significant project that the team is gearing up for. According to Horner, these undertakings ensure that the entire team remains laser-focused. He continued:
"There’s a lot going on behind the scenes with Red Bull Powertrains, as that's gearing up as well in the background in Milton Keynes, with 2026 not being all that far away now. So, plenty to keep people focused on."
But such dominance doesn't come without its set of challenges. Red Bull's supremacy has not only put them on a pedestal but also made them a beacon for rival teams. In response, Red Bull has been proactive, recruiting a significant number of engineers for their upcoming engine division.
"The challenges are always different because, when you’re the hunter, you’ve got everybody focussed on the target ahead of you.
"When you suddenly become the hunted, it’s a different type of pressure.
"Of course, we have numerous approaches from all these guys, chasing all our staff, sponsors, you name it.
"Getting there is one thing, staying there is another. But I think the spirit, the culture that we have within the team; we’ve got great strength in depth and have enjoyed great continuity over a long period of time, which again is so important in this business."
