Eyeing a 2024 Formula 1 comeback, Mick Schumacher is eager to get an F1 seat with one of the teams on the grid. But with limited opportunities coming in the way as a challenge, Mick's friend and former F1 champion Sebastian Vettel has been doing his bit to push him into one of the teams.

Mick has spent the 2023 season being Mercedes' third driver where he has earned quite a bit of appreciation from team boss Toto Wolff for his simulation work that helped Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.

However, being a full-time F1 driver is what Mick is looking at for 2024. With the absence of his father Michael Schumacher, Vettel has been doing everything in his capacity to help Mick get a seat. Explaining the challenging scenario that lay ahead for the 24-year-old, Vettel lists down the options currently on the table. He told Sky F1:

"The situation is difficult at the moment.

"There is perhaps still a single cockpit and at the moment it is not that easy or rather difficult to get in there and slide in.

"But there is always some possibility.

"I think it's important that things continue in a certain way for him next year.

"That he continues to work on the second chance.

"From a German perspective it's essential, it's not just the biggest young talent, but perhaps even the only one at the moment."

As of now, Mick could consider three possibilities but certain conditions do apply. They are Williams, Alfa Romeo, and AlphaTauri.

In the case of Williams, rookie driver Logan Sargeant is under pressure to score his first point of the season. With this contract expiring this year, things look a bit hazy for Sargeant.

However, Williams boss James Vowles has been rather patient with the rookie driver as he recently revealed he wants to provide an environment for young drivers in the team that supports growth through learning. The chances of him letting Sargeant go are a bit low, though a contract extension hasn't been signed yet.

At AlphaTauri, it seems like the team would continue working with Daniel Ricciardo despite his short recovery break as a result of an injury during the Dutch GP weekend. But, Yuki Tsunoda's contract expires at the end of this season, so there are a few chances for Mick there unless Red Bull brings in reserve driver Liam Lawson to fill that seat.

One could witness the replacement of Zhou Guanyu at Alfa Romeo but there are high chances of the team hiring Theo Pourchaire instead.
