Former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher has revealed that word from Max Verstappen's side of the Red Bull garage is that he wants a new teammate.

In a thrilling race that had spectators on the edge of their seats, Sergio Perez has once again emerged victorious over his Red Bull Racing teammate Max Verstappen. This marks the second time this year that the Mexican driver has taken the top spot on the podium, cementing his position as a formidable force in the 2023 drivers' championship.

However, not everyone is thrilled with Perez's success. According to Ralf Schumacher, there are whispers in the Verstappen camp that they would prefer a different teammate.

Perez's triumph was aided by a fortunate safety car that allowed him to take the lead from Verstappen. But it wasn't just luck that secured his win - the Mexican driver's speed was also impressive, as he was able to maintain his lead over the two-time world champion even after the safety car period ended.

In a recent column for Sky Sports in Germany, Schumacher reported on the rumours swirling around Red Bull Racing. He wrote:

"From my point of view, it is clear that Verstappen's side wants a new teammate. I hear these rumours everywhere.

"I see it as a problem that Pérez knows his time at Red Bull Racing is coming to an end. He is fighting for his chance to play at the front, to win, to have a go at the title. That is why Sergio is now becoming more selfish, and as far as selfishness goes, Max Verstappen cannot complain.

"Max is doing very well, he is rightly the number one in the team, but he is also clearly marking his territory."
