Mercedes F1 driver Lewis Hamilton has shared a close-up teaser of his helmet design for the upcoming 2023 season.

Taking to social media, the seven-time champion posted the sneak peek to his Instagram story.

The design has a deep purple and florescent yellow theme with red, blue, and green accents. There has been a huge amount of speculation over what colour scheme the Brackley- based team are going to go for with the highly-anticipated W14 and this is sure to feed into that.

The team are ready to unveil the W14 on Wednesday 15 February and have currently teased an all-silver, all-black, and even Petronas turquoise livery.

If we can go off the other team releases we have seen so far this year, it is likely Mercedes will adopt a similar theme of exposed carbon fibre for weight reduction. However, although the team have teased fans a lot, we are still none the wiser.

Hamilton's teammate George Russell has not given any teasers of his 2023 season helmet but we will keep our eyes out for it.

The 2023 F1 season is due to begin with the Bahrain Grand Prix on 3-5 March with the pre-season testing, also in Bahrain, the week before. The rest of February is filled with the rest of the livery releases and the release of season five of Netflix's Drive to Survive.

The season is set to break records with a huge 23 races including the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix which has the penultimate spot on the calendar. Along with the new race are three new F1 drivers, Logan Sargeant, Oscar Piastri, and Nyck de Vries who are all heading into their rookie season. Fans are also seeing the return of Nico Hulkenberg for Haas.

Max Verstappen will be looking to defend his title, whereas Hamilton will be hoping to come back in a much more competitive position to 2022 and be able to fight it out at the top of the grid.
