Max Verstappen has taken his first win at the Australian Grand Prix in his career after a chaotic race.

Whilst reflecting on the big moment in his career, Verstappen couldn't resist firing a warning to Lewis Hamilton who finished in second place. We heard at the very beginning of the race Verstappen complaining to the Red Bull team that Hamilton had pushed him wide.

The incident was not looked into by race stewards, however, Verstappen was clearly still unhappy about it.

During his post-race interview with David Coulthard, Verstappen explained:

"We had a very poor start and lost one. I was careful because I had a lot to lose and a lot to win.

"After that, I think the pace of the car was quick, you could see that straight away. We were always there waiting for the DRS to open up to give us chance to pass.

"With these red flags I don't know, the first time maybe you can do it. But I think that second one, I don't really understand. So that was a bit of a mess. But we survived everything.

"We had good pace in the car today again, and we won, which of course is the most important. The battle with Lewis and that first lap, on turn three there was maybe a little bit of contact there. It was hard but fair. From my side.

Firing a warning to seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton, Verstappen continued:

"I just try to avoid contact, it's quite clear in the rules what is allowed to do, what you're allowed to do now in the outside, but clearly it's not followed.

"It's something for for the next races to take into account."

Talking about when he went off the track later on in the race when he was back in the lead, Verstappen explained that he locked up causing him to go off onto the grass. He explained:

"Yeah, I think I did the city of favour, just cut the grass a bit more. They don't need to do that anymore in that area. I locked up a bit.

This is the first time Verstappen has won at the Australian Grand Prix in his career, reflecting on the momentous occasion, the Belgian-Dutch driver said:

"It's great to win here. It's been a while for the team as well, but very, very, very happy but also it's still great to see that the fans are having a good time even though they had a long wait for the whole day. But I'd say a big thank you to them as well."
